Fallen on hard times

We took Nora to a little equine event in a small town not far from our house and on the way home we came across an abandoned country church. I took this photo with my iPhone & put a few layers on it with the photostudio app. Virginia is full of quaint historic towns full of character & the countryside is dotted with abandoned & overgrown buildings that make a photographer's heart smile with glee. I only wish I could do the scenes justice.

  1. That's just beautiful Megan!

  2. Dear meegan-thanks so much for the comment you left on my blog the other day.It was very insightful...I don't think you have writers laziness though...I just think that it takes alot of time and effort to write all the time, to write interesting and relevant posts while being authentic. Plus we have babies so that makes it difficult too.
What a beautiful pic! I love what you did with photoshop. And I love your baby blanket (post below)...I wrote a longer comment there. Nora is so lucky:) And you are too! Yes, dreams do come true!
It was great having Tim back here-he just left this afternoon. at least he will be back every weekend now and then at the end of Nov. (when his class ends) we are all going to be together as a family whether the house is sold or not! So that makes us both feel much better.

  3. This is super beautiful and has so much atmosphere!

  4. okay, don't do that again! The title of this post? I mean my heart dropped when I read it and then was relieved to learn you were referring to that church!

Which, by the way, is an amazing photograph! No more belittling your skills my friend - you captured the magic and nostalgic feel of the scene beautifully! Would be a great series to do :)

  5. Hi,

Thanks so much for dropping by my site and adding me to your blogroll. I love this photo. I really admire people with great photography skills. I'm just beginning to dabble in photography so that photos on my blog can be somewhat decent. :-) I'm looking forward to getting to know you a little better through the BYW class.
