Considering a new hairstyle

A few months into my pregnancy my hair became icky: snarly, clumped together, flat on top & poofy at the sides, with slit ends & a coarser texture. Hormones running amok I suppose. Sadly my hair hasn't improved in the seven months since giving birth. My hair is even thinner now & refuses to grow. So I'm considering a haircut to get rid of all the damage & (hopefully) stimulate growth. I like long hair but I think I will have to go a bit shorter. Below is the style I'm considering. I think something layered like this would get rid of most of the split ends. What do you think?

  1. Dear Meegan-i love that haircut! I think yes, the only way to get rid of split ends etc is just to chop it off! It's also easier to manage to (with baby). What you can do (if you have the time) is -after you get your hair cut-give yourself a deep conditioning treatment once a week. I use olive oil or almond oil and heat it up and massage it into my hair. Just a little. I used to do this-like eons ago when I had time!! You can sit in the sun to let it really soak in.
Yes, those pesky gremlins came visiting a few days ago! I had a full on meltdown! Like everything from...how am i going to do all this, what was i thinking, my art isn't good enough...everything!! So I just did what Kelly said in class and wrote through it. I am going to share some of that in a post this week. I think it helps when we can share our stories truthfully and openly so that we can all see how normal this is. We all feel fear but that shouldn't stop us from doing what we are meant to do.
Yes, that book women, Food and God is really great. It is a very easy read and she writes with complete honesty and humor as well as insight and clarity. It really helped me see things differently-how we need to get in touch with our spiritual nature. I hope you enjoy it. Tara and I had a great few days off (even with our unexpected guests)...I am so glad that you are back in the loop-sometimes just some time away is all we need.xxx

  3. I am all about the ease and convenience of short hair. I also think it can look powerful - nothing to hide behind. Now, you are young but for me? short is easier to cover all the gray hairs that emerged, oh, well, when I became a mother!

    go sassy!
